BROWSING ONLY

The Three Jacks Vineyard Chardonnay exhibits aromas of lemon curd, orange marmalade and brioche, with juicy flavors of pear, candied citrus peel, chamomile and a rich, mineral driven texture. The wine is full-bodied, weighty, and rich yet remarkably agile on its feet because of firm underlying acidity.

"
Aromas of tangerine, fresh pear and lemon balm waft from the nose of this vibrant Chardonnay. The palate brings a richer edge of toasted hazelnut, spiced pear and baked brioche, finishing with a wave of bracing Meyer lemon acidity. This is brilliant wine for grilled halibut, corn, or crabcakes."

Vineyard & Vintage Character

Three Jacks Vineyard is a small vineyard in the heart of the Green Valley of Russian River Valley AVA farmed by the Dutton family. Hartford Family Winery has a long history with this vineyard; we bottled it as a designated vineyard from 1999 through 2004, and are delighted to once again be working with the fruit, starting with the 2012 vintage. The vineyard is located on Graton Road next to the Dutton Shop, and is known to most as “Triple JS—the name derived from the partnership of the owners—Joe, Juan, Jose and Steve. It was planted in 1995 to four clonal selections: old Wente, Rued, Dijon 95. Clone 15 and 809. The name Three Jacks was coined in a barrel tasting with the 1999 vintage and has stuck ever since.
The 2023 vintage was a mild and late maturing year that produced Chardonnays that are bright, complex, and intense.
